NAGPUR: New Zealand sealed their first  World T20 match against India for 47 runs. Chasing NZ's 126, India were bowled out for of 79, one of the least scores by India in the home land. New Zealand spinners who shared a total of nine wickets deserve all credits for the win in the low-scoring match. Mitchell Santner was adjudged man of the match.

It was such a pitch where the spinners were nothing short of kings. The unexpected bounce and turns did really tormented the Indian batsmen, save MS Dhoni (30 on 30) and Kohli (23 on 27 deliveries. Ashwin (10 on 20 deliveries) is the third highest run scorer. This would prove how pathetic was India's batting performance.

Neverthless, credits must be given to the New Zealand's spinning trio Nathan McCullum (2 for 15) , Mitchell Santner (4 for 11) and Ish Sodhi (3 for 18) who shared nine wickets. Indian batsmen really did not have any answer for these spin trio and we could rather say that they have fallen in their own pit.

India, with a history of winning last seven T20 matches in a stream, might have thought to have a good start at the World T20 tournament against the Kiwis. When India restricted New Zealand for a mere total of 126 for seven, the fans expected a romp home which was a simple thing for India at its current form.

Chasing a low target of 127 for the renowned batting line-up was a simple task. But India stumbled upon one after another. In the penultimate ball of the first over, India lost Shikhar Dhawan for just one. McCullum trapped Dhawan in front of the wicket. In the third over India lost Rohit Sharma (5) and Suresh Raina (1). Yuvraj started in style with a boundary but he too fell soon to McCullum who caught him in own bowling; leaving India struggling at 26 for four in 4.5 overs.

Since then India lost wickets in regular intervals. Once Kohli fell to Sodhi when the team score was 39, India had lost the hopes. Everyone just wanted to know for how many runs India fail. Dhoni's attempt in the initial overs was not enough to save the team from a defeat. Captain scored 30  on 30 deliveries and fell as the nineth wicket.

Batting first, New Zealand scored 126 for the loss of seven wickets. Anderson top scored the NZ innings with 34 (42). However it was Ronchi's final blaze that helped New Zealand reach a decent total. Ronchi scored 21 in just 15 deliveries with the help of two boundaries and a maximum. Bumrah bowled really well and he bagged the wicket of Anderson. His figures read 4-0-15-1. Raina (4-0-15-1) and Nehra (4-0-20-1) too bowled pretty well.
